The Fund's Activity

The activity is run from a small office at the heart of the neighborhood, by staff and volunteers who are always devoted to the success of Kupat Hashchuna in all its activities – throughout the year in general and before holidays in particular.

What the Support Includes

  • Food vouchers for the Yesh Chesed chain and help with rent
  • Mentors, private-lesson tutors and emotional therapy
  • One-time help for children's weddings
  • Help for families whose income has stopped – illness or death, layoffs, unpaid leave, a business that collapsed
  • Rehabilitation of families, widows and orphans
  • Emergency expenses for low-income families – plumbing, electricity, essential electrical appliances
  • On holidays: matzot, grape juice, poultry, fish and additional food products

Support criteria: Uniform, and conditional on completing a detailed form and approval by the support committee under the neighborhood Rabbis shlita.

Malbushei Kavod

Men, women, boys and girls, avreichim and low-income residents purchase respectable, quality clothing for every season at cost price, with Kupat Hashchuna subsidizing the activity.

  • Blankets in winter and coats for children
  • Funding vacations for the neediest families together with their children
  • Board games for the children of needy families
  • Holiday clothing at brand stores for older girls, so they do not feel inferior among their friends
  • Food products from time to time for dozens of families, and cases of grape juice

Managing Funds for Cases of Distress

Managing funds for dozens of cases of distress in the neighborhood and giving a fast, effective response to each case: weddings for children of parents unable to provide for them, orphans left without a father or mother, families in which one parent has passed away and who need monthly support, and fundraising for orphans' weddings.

Cooperation with Funds

Many donors and large funds rely on Kupat Hashchuna to support needy residents of the neighborhood. Through the fund, tens and hundreds of thousands of shekels are transferred each year to needy families.
